During the tough times of Covid-19, Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow Alumni Relations Committee, reached out to our alumni network through our Seven Alumni Chapters and delivered 5th Knowledge Series on “Retail in times of COVID -19” The OMNI Channel Challenge”.
The session was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Kavita Pathak (Director - Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow) and Dr. Manisha Seth (Chair - Alumni Relations Committee) and was coordinated & supported by Mr. Nitin Mohan (AM, Alumni Relations Committee) along with Alumni Chapter Presidents i.e., Mr. Vinay Singh Pundir (Mumbai), Mr. Akash Deep Saxena (Lucknow), Mr. Amit Kumar Jena (Kolkata), Mr. Abhinav Purwar (Bangalore), Mr. Avnish Kumar Johari (Delhi), Mr. Sandeep Verma (Hyderabad) and Mr. Faseeh Elahi (International).
The session was conducted on 3rd May 2020 (Sunday) wherein more than 50 participants attended the session.
The session on “Retail in times of COVID -19” The OMNI Channel Challenge” and its Applications by Mr. Rajesh Purohit, Vice President – Operations, Business Development & OMNI Channel, Max Hypermarket India Pvt. Ltd was highly power packed and very well done!
With production schedules taking a backseat, issues in logistics due to lack of manpower and transportation constraints and government regulations, the retailers are facing tough times. On one hand the FMCG players are battling to balance supply and demand, on the other , the other segments like fashion etc. are preparing future roadmaps to deal with the crisis due to lack of business.
The way forward seems to depend a lot on online channels and therefore going Omni channel seems to be the way forward.
The webinar discussed the issues being faced by retailers in wake of COVID-19 and the benefits and challenges of going the Omni channel way.
