On 1st February 2020, Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow organized an event called Start Up Stories, which is the part of E-WEEK initiative by Centre for Entrepreneurship and Family Business Committee. The whole idea was to create a platform for successful start-ups to come share their journey with the students and motivate them.
The event was hosted by Ms. Ananya Shastri. At the start of the event, she welcomed the esteemed Guest for this interactive session, Mr. Anuj Agarwal, Managing director of C.P Milk & Food Products Pvt .Ltd. also known as Gyan Dairy; Mr. LUV KALRA, CEO, Rozgaar India; Mr. Anuj Singh, CEO, DigiLoom ; Mr. Basant Rai, COO. The guests were felicitated with the green certificate by Prof. Jatin Srivastava.
The first speaker to share his insightful journey, was Mr. Anuj Agarwal. He started his entrepreneurial journey in the year 2007 to bring in socio-economic change in the lives of farmers, generate employment opportunity & provide the fresh & pure dairy products at the doorstep of customers. Credited with various accolades & appreciations towards bringing tangible socio-economic change in the lives of several walks of society. He started from the family’s tobacco business which was nothing else but a sinking ship for three years of his career. He revived the entire family business and then expanded his horizons to Liquid Milk business, which at that point was a progressing business model with only two three players. He then saw a business opportunity in cattle feed business and marked this new journey. He was awarded “Young Indian Entrepreneur of the year - 2016" by Association of Business Communication of India. Last year Niti Aayog selected 200 young entrepreneurs from across India for "Champions of Change" initiative and he was one of them. In the event on 21st August he was facilitated by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Not only this, the company has been awarded with "Uttar Pradesh Best Employer Brand Awards 2018" on 18th of September 2018 by "World HRD Congress".
Second speaker was Mr. LUV KALRA, CEO, Rozgaar India. He is an International Business graduate from London, United Kingdom, and is a part part of the IT & ITES industry since 2007. He recognized the potential & rising opportunity of digital era, due to years of experience and research on the Indian market.
Mr. Anuj Singh, CEO, DigiLoom an entrepreneur, a dentist and a philanthropist, started his entrepreneurial journey in the year 2009. After completing his dentistry, instead of following the traditional path he decided to start his own venture. Today he looks after the marketing and branding of all his ventures. For his effort in creating an awareness about entrepreneurship among the youths, Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi is one of his followers on twitter.
Mr. Basant Rai, COO, DigiLoom, after finishing his schooling from Army Public School, Lucknow he moved to Mumbai in 1995 for a diploma course in Fashion Designing. From 1995 to 2002, he worked there as freelance fashion show director and directed many fashion shows. All this while he also designed dresses for the contestants for national level beauty pageants, films and video albums. In 2002 he returned to Lucknow and started his own Event Management Company. And simultaneously he was writing for Hindustan Times, Lucknow as a Fashion Columnist. In 2005 he was roped in by Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board (UPKVIB) to revamp the image of Khadi. And ever since, he decided to work only on Khadi and handloom as a designer. Mr. Anuj Singh and Mr. Basant Rai are the Lucknow based first generation Entrepreneur Duo working on Sustainable fashion & lifestyle.
At the end of the session, the speaker answered some of the most important questions of how opportunities for start-up has changed and how to constantly reinvent in this era of innovation prone world. Prof. Jatin gave away the mementos to the esteemed guests. The event was followed by prize distribution ceremony for corporate vigilance and Brand It Up. Cash Prizes were given upto 3000 for top 3 winners with certificates.
